LoveBitten - online dating site for vampires (and humans)

lovebitten.jpg

Have you ever wondered if there were dating services for vampires? Turns out there are, and quite a few in fact. I guess the Blade movie series has had its effect. ;)

"Fangbangers" have places to hang out at and meet others with a similar lifestyle. One of these online dating sites is LoveBitten.net, which is pretty much a standard online dating site, which offers all the usual features. What sets it apart is that it really is all vampirish, begining with the design, all the way through its many creative members.

Naturally, humans are also welcome to join. After all, vampires have to feed on someone - no just kidding, vampires actually get by on fake blood, which interestingly enough is available from various sources. Membership is free, so if you're interested head on over there and join for free. Don't forget to bring garlic though. ;)

There are other vampire dating services, such as Vampire Flirt, so check it out as well.

It seems DNA testing helps avoid a broken heart

Having become more affordable DNA testing has found its way into modern lifestyles. One of the things it's used for nowadays is related to dating. 58% of respondents in a recent series of surveys felt that DNA tests, used to estimate compatibility and sexual attraction, will become an important part of the overal methods for matchmaking on dating sites.

Nobody likes to have their heart broken, and it is with this idea in mind that DNA testing for dating purposes is perceived as a good tool, which should help ensure everyone a better quality dating experience.

Now, it remains to be said that a person is partly formed according to inherited DNA, but partly from the influence of the environment in which they live, so an average DNA match doesn't necesserrily mean an average dating partner.

300 dates in one day - when is it enough?

speeddate-s.jpgThe title sunmmarizes the story of Francesca Salcido, who went on 300 dates in a single day with ease. Naturally, it's all about speed dating.

Her speedy adventure began online on SpeedDate.com, an online speed dating site which we covered many times before and which believes that 90 seconds is all it takes for someone to recognize whether they like someone and would be interested in socializing with. Some go even further and state 30 seconds is enough, such as Stephen Stokols, CEO of SpeedDate's rival WooMe.com.

Even though it's all about webcams which allow users to get the visual impression of someone, in the end it still comes down to chemistry - it's either there or it isn't!

Basically, if you like someone you'll want as much time as you can get with them, whereas if you don't like someone, seconds are enough. Well, I guess it makes sense - why would you want to stay if you don't like.

Automated timers at SpeedDate and WooMe cut off online video chats after as little as 90 seconds or as long as three minutes. Those that felt romance kindling during curt exchanges can later reconnect to fan the flames.

SpeedDate now sets up about 100,000 virtual date on a daily basis, for users in more than 200 countries, with most of this happening through Facebook and MySpace applications, embedded into users' pages and profiles.

Even though there are success stories from using speed dating to meet potential relationship partners, most people are satisfied to be able to quickly and easily meet a lot of new friends. Majority still turns to "traditional" online dating services to look for relationship partners.

SocialBang goes to Facebook

SocialBang, a social network/dating service, with a specific approach to helping singles to get in touch with others, has launched its Facebook presence. The service boasts an easy to use visual interface that allows users to easily "see" who's online and in the neighborhood. The use of avatars and other social network traits lead to its appearance on Facebook, which was only logical. Basically, the service combines chat, games, competitions, dating and more in an all-round rich interactive environment.

SocialBang director Dickon Hammer said: "I suppose it's about the closest thing there is to an online night club."

"We've tried to create a fun environment where people can spend time online either with friends, or playing games, or meeting new people".

There will be competitions and cash prizes for winners soon, so if you're interested, pay them a visit.

For more info or to join their network see socialbang.com/facebook.
