A dating website for smart people only

A new site has come out which caters to the smartest people of society only. This only accounts for 15% of people. This means that people who join this site are extremely intelligent. It is thought that people who are intelligent find it easier to connect with people who are equally intellectual.

brainThis site was created for people with high I.Q.'s to find partners who suit them, and are on the same level. Though it's exclusive in terms of intelligence - location, education and social status do not act as a barrier.

Fernie Jenser, the founder of IntelligentPeople.com says, "Intelligent people usually want a partner who is also intelligent. Everyone wants someone they can talk to." Jenson also believes, "At general dating sites, you have to spend time and energy, sorting through profiles to find the ones who suit the criterion. At IntelligentPeople.com we already made that sorting for you."

If you want to become a member of IntelligentPeople.com, you have to pass an I.Q. test. The test can only be taken twice to prevent those people, who are not truly intelligent, from joining the site. So, if you are smart and looking for a date you should check out this site.

Randomate.com, the one-man operation from Canada, released their speed dating Facebook app called Speed Dating 2.0, which makes it very easy for everyone to engage in their five minute online speed dating sessions.

app_3_21717164272_4465.gifInstead of normally taking time to go through hundreds of profiles, this app tries to simplify and speed up the process by putting emphasis on conversation. Users simply choose from the available options to narrow down the number of people with whom to make contact. The app then sets up speed dating sessions and engages the user with selected members in communication right away. Since it's a Facebook app, this becomes a social network speed dating hybrid, which should yield its users some very interesting results. Since social networks and dating sites are steadily becoming one and the same, this application will probably do well, after all there are only millions of members on Facebook.

Registration is free, so give Speed Dating 2.0 a try.

Speed-dating online is the becoming the new craze for 18-24 year-olds

Woome.com, is the source of this new craze. Created by George Burkowski and Steve Stokols, it is the new idea that is taking the internet by storm.

Speed-dating onlineBerkowski said he did not want to make the site too lovey-dovey; he wanted it to be more of a place where for people to socialize and meet. The two young men started this site, because they saw that speed-dating was becoming extremely popular, especially among young people. They figured by putting this service on the internet they would make this type of dating more easy and efficient. As well, the odds are certainly very high for finding a partner in a room with 30 guys and 30 girls.

They also wanted to break the stigma surrounding on-line dating, which is that people who go online to date are looking for marriage and a life-time partner. By using the speed-dating system, this sight attracts younger people; because it takes very little time, and it is a great way for them to meet people.

The target age-group for this site is, 18-24 year-olds. Already, there are about 200,000 users, and big-names like the founders of Skype are supporting this new idea. So this might be next major trend of the near-future!

Social + dating = social dating networks

Dusan wrote an interesting post the other day comparing social networks and dating sites. This got me interested about whether dating service developers are working on something interesting regarding some sort of symbiosis of the two. Here are a couple of service I found that seem to try exactly that:

You have to register for free to use any of the numerous features offered: 2.0 search filer, Yes/no match making, Extensive profiles, Own nickpage, Photos & videos, Photo voting, Webcam videos, Large mailbox, Blog & guestbook, Member forum, Privacy functions, International profiles…

socialgrid_logo2.gif
This service allows registered members to enjoy finding Soulmates, Old Friends, New Friends, Classmates, New Friendships, Activity Groups, Study Groups, Business Networks, Blog, Social Network, Personal Web Site…
You can find people using "tag search" (pretty "social network" web 2.0 style), and by the way, check out their search page which features dozens of criteria which you can use to literally pinpoint profiles you may be interested in socializing with, or even dating with.

I think we'll be seeing a very deep integration of social networks and online dating. The connection between the two is so natural that fusion is inevitable.

DegreeDate back in business

logo.jpgRemember DegreeDate.com? It was conceived as an education-oriented dating site, and was working until about two years ago. Well, it's back again in "beta v2.0".

The Seattle based service was initially launched back in 2004, as a niche dating service where educated men and women who view education as something desirable in their potential partners, could meet and date. It was taken down later on because it was hacked, according to Cully Perlman, Degreedate.com founder and president. Well, it's now back online, and continues to offer its services to mature singles, who know what they want, for free. Improvements include a new design, member homepage, new dating resources (articles, advice), better picture viewing modes, and maybe most important, regarding past trouble, all new security features. If you are interested, sign-up here for free.
