LoveDetect - feel the love vibrations

steps.jpg

I was wondering when something like this would appear in online dating. LoveDetect is a service that makes use of the most sophisticated voice recognition and pattern measurement. Based on technology developed in Israel for security purposes, LoveDetect helps singles find out whether someone they are talking to is sincere about their feelings for them. Basically, the software behind the service analyzes voice patterns and brain activity "fingerprints" of the person on the other side of the conversation and tries to determine what they call the Love Score, which is available to the service user in one of two ways - online or on the phone directly. LoveDetect boasts a 96% accuracy in their analysis. Impressive! Here's what they say:

"LoveDetect measures high and constant levels of excitement and concentration - indicative of arousal derived mostly from sexual attraction. This type of feeling and arousal is usually present between two people in the beginning of their relationship, and before the relationship is moved to a more formal structure."

If you've ever been on a date, and wondering afterwards whether they liked you, this just might be one way to find that out … short of asking them outright of course. LoveScore gives values from 1 to 10. So, I guess anything higher than 5 means there's something there. The service is not free. Prices range from $10 (30 min) to $80 (240 min) for the total duration calls. I didn't find a free-trial option, which kinda sucks, but they seem serious enough so if you were looking for a hi-tech approach to dating, this sounds like it.

Got single friends? Let me introduce them to my single friends

mmfriend.gifThat's the idea behind the newest dating service down under. Meet My Friend is an Australian online dating service that works on the principle that everyone is six degrees of separation away from someone through some mutual friend or connection. The idea is to bring singles together through recommendations (match ups) from their friends. Nice idea…

The service works like this - friends nominate their single mates for membership (or single people can nominate themselves), but a friend writes their profile. This is aimed at taking the pressure off trying to describe yourself, and lets other singles look at your profile from a unique personal perspective.

Members can link to each others' home pages and form a "virtual social network" (OMG, another social network :) ). They can set their friends up with other singles they deem appropriate as candidates for being their partner. Anyone can post a profile for free to see who they like, or who likes them before they join.

Sounds like something that could work well for many singles out there. If you are a single, sign-up here. If you know singles you want to match with someone, sign-up here.

Oh, by the way, the service just launched today, on Valentine's Day. Nice!

Does love have a price tag? Maybe.

7030logohomepage.gifThere is always space for another kind of dating service, to address a specific audience. Seventy Thirty is one such dating service, and it aims to address the more independent, very well to do, "upper class" singles. It's a way for rich singles to find and meet someone special, with all the security and support from a system designed to address their special needs. Anyone can join, but according to this article on Liverpool Daily Post, you have to dish out a million pounds first. Not surprising, considering members are from a background which demands a level od discretion.

"Seventy Thirty is concerned about the quality of clients rather than quantity. We only consider inviting members who are of a high calibre, for example educated, engaging, dynamic, well-travelled or good looking. Moreover, they are all ‘real’ people – aiming to meet someone with similar morals, values and interests."

Confidentiallity is 100% guaranteed and members are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before joining the service. Well, are you the type for this dating service? Check them out today, but have some cash ready. ;)

FitnessPersonals - a dating service for those with an active lifestyle

fitnesspersonals.gifIt seems niche dating sites are always expanding into new areas. FitnessPersonals.com is a dating service dedicated to bringing together singles who lead an active lifestyle. It's been known that one of the better places to try to meet someone is the gym, so this is like an online extension of that. :) In fact, the people behind Fitness Personals are active themselves and involved in activities such as surfing, cycling, rock climbing, wakeboarding and leisure sports.

The service opened some four months ago, so it's not that new, but the reason we are mentioning it now is that over the past months they've done some changes, the latest being the introduction of their blog, as another channel for communicating with their target audience. Membership is free, so if you're the sporty kind and like to hang out with others who find satisfaction in an active lifestyle, sign-up today and meet them. Rich women speed dating event hits New York

A different kind of speed dating event for wealthy singles is hitting New York. Unlike the regular "older guys, younger ladies" event, this one will feature just the opposite.

Rich women speed dating event hits New YorkTo qualify for the forthcoming "Sugar Mamas & Toy Boys" evening in a Manhattan restaurant, women must be over 35, earn at least 250,000 a year or have a minimum of 2 million in assets or divorce settlement. Men, on the other hand, need only be under 35 and submit five pretty pictures of themselves.

So far more than 5,000 men applied for one of 20 places in the event and were chosen by a professional matchmaker.

According to the event's creator Jeremy Abelson, "Symbiosis has allowed ugly rich men to attract young, gorgeous, money-hungry women for centuries; it's now the women's turn."

Gail Garrison, a 44-year-old fashion designer and former model, is one of the 20 women who will attend. She said: "Younger men expect an older woman to be more accomplished. They are looking for you because you are intelligent. They are not looking for a mother."

If you happen to attend the event and you're a woman - have some fun. On the other hand, if you're a man - go get some MILFs. ;)
