Cyber-dating marathon sees happy ending

Alan Willis's story started in the fall of 2006 when he moved to London at age 30 as a very lonely man.

Cyber-dating marathon sees happy endingHaving a lot of time on his hands, he decided to start his blog AreYouMyWife.com. Once a married woman had told him that he only needed to advertise that he was an ordinary, well-adjusted guy and he would find himself the right woman in no time.

She was quite right as soon as he started his blog he was met with 6,000 responses. This pushed him to quit his job as a marketing agent for Jameson Whiskey and spend all of his money on 39 dates in 13 different countries. His story was aired worldwide and it has come to a happy end.

A 29-year-old woman from London named Claire Marjoram inspired Wills to propose.

"I asked her to marry me on the path between Beaver Lake and the lookout (on Mount Royal)," Wills went on to say, "Cece (Marjoram) said that it was on that very same path last year, after we had done a television interview, that she first realized that she loved me. I never knew that!"

Wills hopes to spread his happiness to other people as he wants to start a spinoff of his blog called AreYouMyPartner.com which will not only be a tool for dating but a business venture as well.

Online dating spreading to zoos

Killarney is one hard to get young lady, she has a history of swatting her suitors or even giving them the cold shoulder.

Online dating spreading to zoosHowever, Killarney is lucky to have some really good friends, who keep on updating her profile trying to help her find Mr.Right. Killarney is a koala bear who might be on the way to find her dream date through a matchmaking service the keepers at the Riverbanks Zoo have started.

The digital services used to pair animals up are very similar to the ones that are used for people. Each animal has its own database which shows information on their age, weight and sex. Their favorite comfort foods and a preference for walks on the beach are not of great importance. About 200 zoos in Australia use this service and many internationally.

This service is being moved to the Web, which will make it much more efficient and accesible. Finding a match for any zoo animal can be a difficult process, by knowing the details of an animal's personality many problems can be sifted out.

American men dating in foreign countries

American men dating in foreign countriesMany American men go overseas to travel and find themselves free of everyday routines and stress, allowing them to become more spontaneous, expressive and passionate, which makes them feel that they can date women that would not go for them back home.

In their arrogant and ignorant way, American men think that they can woo exotic beauties with their American charms; which they consider to be optimism, good humor, superior dentistry; and of course they think that women find their inability to understand the local language endearing.

Until now, the biggest fallback for American guys has been that they have been able to pay their way through just about any date. Things are changing though, the American dollar is not so strong anymore, so they can't get the materialistic girls. Of course American optimism will never die and now they are getting themselves a bit more educated in the ways of wooing foreign girls.

It seems that the American nation only has its material worth to fall back on, the best tip for any American man to accept would be that wit and intelligence is what really sweeps any girl off her feet.

Would you flirt with the boss to get a raise?

A survey has revealed that one in five employed Brits don't mind flirting with their superior in order to get a raise. The survey was conducted by dating agency Parship.

It turns out men are more likely to indulge in a little flirt game with women bosses. 19% of women admitted they will use their charms to advance, while 25% of men said that they are willing to give it a try.

Interestingly enough, about one third of the men find their women bosses to be interesting, attractive, intelligent and self-confident, while only about 17% of women fancy their male bosses.

It seems men find it easier to indulge in office romance, and enter into flirt mode with their female colleagues. Women are a bit more restrictive, mostly because of the "danger" their flirting bluff might be called by their male bosses. It's recommended to keep things clear - if you're going to extend your affection towards someone at the office, it would be better if you actually meant it.
