Interesting results came from a survey dubbed The Truth Be Told, which was commissioned by the online dating site BeNaughty.com. It seems that UK daters are not that keen on telling the truth especially when it comes to some of the interesting aspects of their personality. Here's a statistical breakdown:

EasyDate, the company behind BeNaughty and the survey were surprised by these figures. You'd expect people to mostly lie about their age and other smaller things.

In addition to the survey results, BeNaughty will enable its users to compare themselves against the results from the survey and see where they stand against the general crowd.

Traditional online dating relies on demographics and geographical data about people in order to produce a match for your personality. This may change very soon with the introduction of image search combined with facial recognition. Basically, the software, developed by Eyealike, would let you upload a photo of someone you find attractive (actor/actress, rock star, friend's boyfriend/girlfriend ). Based on that you'd be served with possible close matches according to personal preferences for face shape, skin color, and hair color from a database of singles from social networking and dating sites around the web.

Eyealike is now actively searching for dating sites that would like to implement this technology on their platform. Mark Brooks, Editor of Online Personals Watch, commented:

"Having a physical connection with someone is one of the most important components of a relationship, yet a huge percentage of first dates never turn into second dates due to a lack of mutual attraction… Some dating sites will reverse the process so singles can start with a pool of people they are attracted to and then drill down further with specific criteria. This will be a much more fun and efficient means of finding a true match."

Romance and cruise ships seem to go together, don't you think? Movies have been made about this. Sunsets on the sea horizon, gentle breeze, hands held together and reflections of the couple in each others' eyes … that's what it's all about.

No wonder more than 50% of survey respondents feel a cruise is a great way to spend vacation or celebrate a significant anniversary. The survey was done by CruiseCritic.com, a site that specializes in cruise reviews and cruise guides and in other editorial driven features, with an active cruise community. When asked what type of romance they'd be looking for if they went on a cruise, more than 90% of respondents said they'd like to spend that time with someone special.

Cruising is one of the most romantic ways to travel - cozy cabins, private balconies, intimate dining, the adventurous sea experience, distance from "normal" everyday life chores and pressures, oh, and not to mention luxury, for those who have the extra cash.

It seems cruises are becoming more popular as an option for singles looking for a way to meet other interesting singles, although this option is still far from being quick and easy, such as it is on online dating services. If you've got some vacation time coming, treat yourself to cruise trip. You never know, maybe your special someone will be boarding on the same day.

A woman named "Emily" recently wrote in to a column for The San Francisco Chronicle. Readers of the paper were asked to write in about their salaries. Emily is a female pilot for a major international cargo airline and she earns about 240,000 dollars a year.

She wrote about how she feels about disclosing her salary. "I'm quite comfortable discussing my salary with my friends who are in the airlines." The pilot said that she starts having problems when in it comes to dating.

Emily has been fling since the 70's and is 54 years old. She says, "My very close friends know what I make and I'm OK with that. What does not work is letting a guy I'm dating know what I make. He'll usually feel overshadowed, or intimidated, or otherwise not be cool with it, and that's often the last I see of him. For the same reason, I don't usually reveal that I'm a pilot - I usually say that I'm in flight operations and let it go at that."

She went on to say, "Most guys just can't handle being with a woman who's making it in a traditionally male industry (and probably out-earning them)."

A homeless man has conned more than $100,000 from about 13 women posing as a rich man on Internet dating sites.

He did his dirty work on a site called Millionaire Match using a laptop. This is a specially designed website catering to people who would like, "a premium service that caters to professionals with busy lifestyles, including those very successful ones."

This site has claimed that it verifies each and every member of the site doing background checks to see if they are truly celebrities or millionaires.

Mr. Krueger, from Philadelphia posed as Grammy-award-winner with millions, his username was "imreadyru2007."

He managed to romance about 13 women, he even had to the guts to tell whoppers like that he was producing Michael Jackson's new record in Scotland, according to ABC local news reports.

Furthermore, he had the women invest in his non-existent record company, fooling them into giving him thousands and even showed one woman falsified stock reports convincing her that his business was legitimate and successful.

Mr. Krueger was dealing with a gambling addiction; he had already spent the money when he was arrested in Atlantic City.
