Test drive dating - a new kind of speed dating

volvowomen2_m.jpgI am always inspired by the many ways marketers find a way to promote their products. Volvo, the Swedish auto manufacturer, has just announced their latest effort - test drive speed dating. The concept is quite simple actually - singles are invited to a special speed dating event involving a drive in one of the Volvo vehicles, and then given 8 minutes in the front seats. This took place in Sydney, Australia, but there are plans to expand this to other locations "down under".

If you live in Australia, this is great news. I know I wouldn't mind taking the new C class Volvo for a test drive, and getting it on with a beautiful woman next to me. Maybe they could throw in some back seat action, if the couple quickly develops explosive chemistry. ;)

Speed Dating for University Students

Many university students say that it is getting hard to meet people on campus. Especially since the school is large and there are so many students that very often end up bumping into somebody only once. But, Speed Dating is an excellent solution to this problem.

Speed Dating for University StudentsWestern Illinois University has this type of event, which is organized by the University Union Board. One such event was held last Wednesday in the Western Illinois University Heritage Room. There were many students wearing numbers with name tags, and they were chatting away only after a short time.

The event was held at 8:30 in the evening. A folk-music concert followed, so if any of the participants found a match they could get to know one another better afterwards.

The way this type of "dating" works is that you move from person to person, getting to know each other. The catch is, that you only have three minutes to tell that person about yourself.

For those not looking for a date or relationship, this event provided a table for "friends," where food and beverages were provided.

The event went really well and there will be a repeat of it at the university next year with much more advertisement to spread the news. Most of the participants enjoyed the event, and even if they did not find a date, they certainly went away with a few new friends.

Rich women speed dating event hits New York

A different kind of speed dating event for wealthy singles is hitting New York. Unlike the regular "older guys, younger ladies" event, this one will feature just the opposite.

Rich women speed dating event hits New YorkTo qualify for the forthcoming "Sugar Mamas & Toy Boys" evening in a Manhattan restaurant, women must be over 35, earn at least 250,000 a year or have a minimum of 2 million in assets or divorce settlement. Men, on the other hand, need only be under 35 and submit five pretty pictures of themselves.

So far more than 5,000 men applied for one of 20 places in the event and were chosen by a professional matchmaker.

According to the event's creator Jeremy Abelson, "Symbiosis has allowed ugly rich men to attract young, gorgeous, money-hungry women for centuries; it's now the women's turn."

Gail Garrison, a 44-year-old fashion designer and former model, is one of the 20 women who will attend. She said: "Younger men expect an older woman to be more accomplished. They are looking for you because you are intelligent. They are not looking for a mother."

If you happen to attend the event and you're a woman - have some fun. On the other hand, if you're a man - go get some MILFs. ;)

The Sun's Laura Stott shares her experiences from the "Meet A Millionaire" event

Meet A Millionaire dating events

You've probably heard a joke about what attracted the beautiful woman to the 90-year-old millionaire – his personality, of course! Well, his personality could be attractive after all, but somehow I doubt it's the personality women are hunting at UK's "Meet A Millionaire" events…

Anyway, The Sun's Laura Stott visited THE event and shared her experiences with the newspaper's readers. As you can guess, she's still searching for "Mr. Right One" and she thought it would also be the "Mr. Rich One." Apparently, she was wrong… or not. You be the judge - here's the link to the full article.
