Dating in the economic downturn
It seems the days for expensive dates in night clubs and restaurants are nearly over, as more and more singles turn to more down-to-earth dating options. As the economic downturn affects us more every day, we turn to the long forgotten kind of fun - museums, parks, Zoos, hiking, nature picnics, open concerts, and other outdoor or indoor fun that's cheaper less expensive. So, what's wrong with a little free romantic fun? Absolutely nothing. In fact, as one of the protagonists of this article on MSNBC says - by being creative, he can cut costs and still show dates a good time for an entire evening. It takes a bit more work maybe, but in the end it may turn out to be a much better alternative to an expensive dinner at a downtown "talked about" restaurant. There are others' experiences as well, all pointing towards a trend of change in the way singles approach dating - turning more towards more original (and less expensive) ideas for spending time together.
Depending on the kind of person you meet, after a while you'll most likely gravitate towards the kinds of fun mentioned in the previous paragraphs. After all, hanging out at night clubs is only fun for a while. It just gets a bit monotonous after that. If you are going to really take the time and make the effort of actually getting to know someone, it's not going to happen in a crowded, noisy, smoke filled environment.
Planning to ask them out on a date? Better make sure you follow the cultural happenings near you or find out about the best picnic spots in your area. And don't forget to have your bike serviced, chances are you'll need it! ![]()
