Cyber-dating marathon sees happy ending
Alan Willis's story started in the fall of 2006 when he moved to London at age 30 as a very lonely man.
Having a lot of time on his hands, he decided to start his blog AreYouMyWife.com. Once a married woman had told him that he only needed to advertise that he was an ordinary, well-adjusted guy and he would find himself the right woman in no time.
She was quite right as soon as he started his blog he was met with 6,000 responses. This pushed him to quit his job as a marketing agent for Jameson Whiskey and spend all of his money on 39 dates in 13 different countries. His story was aired worldwide and it has come to a happy end.
A 29-year-old woman from London named Claire Marjoram inspired Wills to propose.
"I asked her to marry me on the path between Beaver Lake and the lookout (on Mount Royal)," Wills went on to say, "Cece (Marjoram) said that it was on that very same path last year, after we had done a television interview, that she first realized that she loved me. I never knew that!"
Wills hopes to spread his happiness to other people as he wants to start a spinoff of his blog called AreYouMyPartner.com which will not only be a tool for dating but a business venture as well.
