Forbes.com has published an interesting article about the cities in the US with the most desirable lifestyle conditions for singles.
To sum it up, they've compiled a top 40 list which looks like this (no, San Francisco is no longer numero uno):

The criteria used to determine each cities "value" for singles included characteristics like the number of singles, nightlife, culture, cost of living alone, job growth, online dating activity and "coolness". This last bit was done in cooperation with Harris Interactive, who've conducted a survey to determine how cities rank in terms of "coolness" in the eyes of the beholders.
