Success in the online dating world

About five years ago Victoria, 33, of Christchurch felt that a lightbulb had a switched on in her head and that it was about time to find "the One." She was going through a few life changes and she felt that it was about time to change the fact that she was alone.
"Internet dating was quite a good way of meeting fellas because they were not available anywhere else."
She did not find what she was looking for right away. "I met quite a lot of interesting guys and it helped me decide what I did and didn't want (from a relationship)."
Other than being stood up once, she found that the dating experience was fairly positive.
She was also very careful and tried to stay safe, by always telling her friends where she was going. "I didn't meet anybody I thought was really weird - they were fairly nice guys but I was careful to meet in a public place and tell people where I was going."
She went through a few dates that did not draw her interest. Until she met Chris, 32. "Then I got this really nice email from a guy who looked normal. There wasn't any weirdness and we liked talking about the same sort of things."
After meeting for coffee three years ago the rest became history. They got married in April of 2007.
