Firstly you need to make the man work to get you, or he has to come to you. Mayer's past girlfriend Jessica Simpson followed him around like a slave. Mayer is the one who takes time out of his schedule at least twice a week to spend time with Jennifer. Dating advisor Constance Hoffman for upcoming TV show "Why You're Single" says that this is the best advice for any woman hoping to keep a man. She says, "As much as you want to let your fingers do the walking, don't. If he wants to see you believe me, he will contact you."
Another piece of advice to follow is to choose a man a little younger than you. 46-year-old actress Demi Moore is having quite a successful relationship with her 30-year-old husband Ashton Kutcher. Jen is following her fellow actress's steps by giving up on men her own age. Hoffman says, "Jennifer knows that age is just a number and it's time to get to know the person behind the number."
Furthermore playing hard to get is really important, "She isn't rearranging her whole life around John and its making him try twice as hard to be with her," says a source.
Finally public displays of affection are a good thing. Jen has no problem showing her feelings for John in public. Hoffman explains, "Showing affection lets you, him and the world know your feelings."
It looks like Jennifer's newfound rules for dating have really landed her quite a catch and she has managed to turn her own bad luck around.
