Online daters having trouble clicking

During April 2008, a survey was done by Harris Interactive for the benefit of Woome (covered here before), which revealed some interesting information about trouble in the online dating world.

It turns out that more than 70% of single adults from the US said online flirting was more difficult than doing it in person. Inability to observe body language or judge chemistry that's going on, or simply reflect on someone's physical appearance were all mentioned as factors that contribute to online flirting being a bit harder.

Making a connection with someone is a product of many factors all at once - many of us simply call it chemistry - and sometimes a couple of minutes with someone is enough to make a decision, as opposed to email and chatting which can take weeks for a meaningful conclusion to take place. Web cams seem to solve this problem, as they allow people to actually see each other and make up at least some of the stuff missing from "not-in-person" communication. Once again, online dating using web cams proves to be the way to go.
