Dating etiquette of the 21st century; Not much has changed
Often times that great date you have been waiting for all week turns out to be a flop.
Jerry Seinfeld, the well-known comedian once said, "Dating is pressure and tension. What is a date but a job interview that lasts all night?" Nowadays, in the modern world there are no clear rules of etiquette when the roles of men and women are changing.
1600 people over 18 were polled in the UK to see what their views are on dating etiquette and most of these British young people were pretty traditional.
Manners are the most important and of course a good sense of humor. Both genders felt that getting inebriated on a first date is out of the question. Men like to have a date that pays attention to them, while women still like when the man pays for dinner — nearly 60% of women said they would feel pretty uncomfortable if they had to pay the bill.
Which is most surprising is that only 13% would stay the night. The older people said they would go further than kissing their date on the cheek. Once again women gave men the upper hand where 40% felt that the man is the one who needs to arrange the next date.
According to experts this survey shows that traditional etiquette is the best way to go, even though there are exceptions - it is much easier just to stick to the few simple rules. It's just a case of "the more things change the more they stay the same."
