Funny Men Get More Dates

A man with a sense of humour is more likely to get the attention of the lady he is interested in, than one without. Women like a man who doesn't take everything too seriously.

woman laughingOf course, it is natural to look for someone who is funny. But this seems much simpler than it truly is; as it can be very difficult for many women to define what exactly they find humorous, and why it is important for a man to be funny.

31-year-old Amanda Caines from Tacoma says, "If a guy can't make me laugh, it's just not going to work out." Men certainly feel this pressure, most of them know that it is very important to make a woman laugh on the first date.

Humour is very necessary in the world of dating, however it is very difficult to learn to be funny, this is most often an inborn trait. If two people click in their sense of humour, then the conversation on a first date gets flowing.

If two people have a similar sense of humour, then often appearance doesn't matter. Women sometimes even overlook a huge age-difference if a guy is funny. It is, however, important to remember that men and women often have a very different sense of humour. It requires a very fine balance for two people to be on the same wavelength.

What's the best online dating name to choose?

Here's an interesting article on Times Online, which goes into the topic of how to choose your online dating name. Believe it or not, there is actually a way to screw this important step up. For example, online dating names such as fun2bwith or i’msweet actually get a lot of attention.

“These names suggest an outgoing or fun nature, or clarify the user’s positive physical appearance,” said Dr Monica Whitty, a lecturer in cyber-psychology at Nottingham Trent University and co-author of the research paper.

“Less flirtatious names may be more appealing to women because they are wary of men who might be using the site to find one-night stands rather than long-term relationships,” Dr Whitty said.

Online dating is already a huge phenomenon at the moment, so users would really benefit from understanding how something as simple as an online dating name could increase their chance of finding a potential partner significantly.

Randomate.com, the one-man operation from Canada, released their speed dating Facebook app called Speed Dating 2.0, which makes it very easy for everyone to engage in their five minute online speed dating sessions.

app_3_21717164272_4465.gifInstead of normally taking time to go through hundreds of profiles, this app tries to simplify and speed up the process by putting emphasis on conversation. Users simply choose from the available options to narrow down the number of people with whom to make contact. The app then sets up speed dating sessions and engages the user with selected members in communication right away. Since it's a Facebook app, this becomes a social network speed dating hybrid, which should yield its users some very interesting results. Since social networks and dating sites are steadily becoming one and the same, this application will probably do well, after all there are only millions of members on Facebook.

Registration is free, so give Speed Dating 2.0 a try.

IceBrkr.com - melt the ice at a dating hot-spot

icebrkr_banner2.jpg

How many times have you been at a club or bar, saw a cute guy or girl and hesitated to approach them, only to have someone a bit braver approach them first. IceBrkr.com is a mobile dating tool that tries to help users by-pass the awkwardness of first contact, which many singles find to be a daunting obstacle. Here's how it works…

By registering for free membership, you can upload photos of yourself. Other members do the same. You get 4 free messages to send, after which you have to purchase message credit (units) before you go to a dating hot spot. There are no detailed profiles because the whole point of the service is "first impressions", as if you really saw someone at a club or bar. Members are directed to Dating Hot Spots, which are basically stylish bars, coffee shops, flash mobbing events, train stations or just about any other convenient location which you and other daters are directed to by Ice Brkr. You can see in advance who is going to be at a particular spot by browsing photos on your mobile or PC. If you happen to see someone you may be interested in, you go to that spot. Once there, upon seeing that person, you can use Ice Brkr to send a message to them, and ask whether they want to make contact. They in turn also see who's just contacted them, and can reply with a yes or no. It's expected singles will respect each other's wish to be or not to be approached. After this technology stops, and normal human interaction takes over.

This actually sounds like pretty good, and a lot of fun. Take a look at their demo video below, it explains the service quite well:

Sceptics say that this might have been a prank for Ashton Kutcher's new show Pop Fiction. In this show he pairs unlikely celebrities together as a prank. However, if this was just a stunt, then why did they go out of their way to avoid being photographed?
