BuddyFetch - dating search engine
Well, it's not only a dating search engine. It's actually a search engine for finding individuals who have profiles on many social networks that are out there, but it's quite easily used for searching for a date. Currently, the search engine retrieves results from these sources - 43 Things, AIM, BEBO, BlackPlanet, Blurty, BookOfMatches, Digg, Espin, Facebook, Flickr, Fotolog, Friendster, Google Talk, Greatest Journal, HI5, Hot or Not, ICQ Messenger, IMVU, Jabber Messenger, Jaiku, LavaPlace, LiveJournal, Meetup, MocoSpace, MSN Messenger, Myspace, NetLog, OkCupid, Paltalk, PlentyofFish, Skype, Stickam, StumbleUpon, Tagged, Tribe, Twitter, Veoh, VOX, WAYN, Webdate, Xanga, Yahoo Personals, YahooIM, YouTube, Zwinky… and they say plenty more are coming in the following months.
There is a simple search interface on BuddyFetch - it lets you enter keywords (best to use personal traits of a person you'd be interested in), select sex (male, female, both), and age. I tried a few simple searches plenty of results pertaining to people interested in dating, although I must point out that some of the results shown are a bit "spam" looking. You can also add your own profile to let the service know where your social profile can be found (basically choose from a list of all the services mentioned earlier). They also ask for your email address, which threw me off a bit - a source network and screen name on that network should be enough.
If you've got a couple of minutes, give BuddyFetch a try and do tell us your impressions.
