Single in the Valley? It may be your own fault
If you're a single woman in the Valley, that is. A book came out - Who's Your City? - states a lot of numerical data from a study. It shows, for example that there are about 65000 more single men than women in Phoenix. In Los Angeles there are about 90000 more single men than single women, and the situation is similar for San Diego, San Francisco, Dallas, Seattle…
The author of the book, Richard Florida said "In rapidly growing cities that have really boomed in the last few years, men move first for economic opportunity…. Women catch up later when they realize there are a lot of 'catches' out there."
Florida, an economic and national population expert, used U.S. Census Bureau data for his study and book. The most common complaint he heard was about dating quality, not quantity.
All is not lost however - in greater New York, single women outnumber single men by more than 210000. So guys, it's time to relocate to the Big Apple.
