German online dating services made 85 million Euros last year
Online dating services are a lucrative business in every country where people can afford to pay a membership fee — or maybe even in countries where they can't.
In Germany, online dating services increased their turnover by 29% last year. According to Jupiter Research, Germans spent 85 million Euros on finding a partner online in 2007, while that number is expected to reach 103 million. Other research company, Comscore, says currently about 6.3 million Germans visit online dating services each month.
As for the Europe as a whole, the number of internet users dating online amounts to 33.5 million each month. The total turnover of online dating service operators in Western Europe is forecasted to increase from 317 million Euros last year to 393 million Euros in 2008.
