Meet My Friend is an Australian online dating service that works on the principle that everyone is six degrees of separation away from someone through some mutual friend or connection. The service works like this - friends nominate their single mates for membership (or single people can nominate themselves), but a friend writes their profile. This is aimed at taking the pressure off trying to describe yourself, and lets other singles look at your profile from a unique personal perspective.
Members can link to each others' home pages and form a "virtual social network" (OMG, another social network 
). They can set their friends up with other singles they deem appropriate as candidates for being their partner. Anyone can post a profile for free to see who they like, or who likes them before they join.
