New site for relationship minded gay and lesbian singles

One Good Love is the name of a new online dating service aimed at catering for the needs of gay and lesbian singles looking for a relationship, rather than just casual dating. It's aim is to connect singles that are ready for the next stage by connecting them with partner for a serious relationship, using oGL Personality Test and Service, which is a specifically tailored matching algorithm for same sex singles. The Personality Test was made according to insightful research of the gay and lesbian community and formulated specifically for same sex singles who want to date. The system works without visible profiles, which are available to the general public on other dating sites. The oGL service allows its members to remain discreet while looking for a potential partner. Frank Mastronuzzi, Founder and President of oneGoodLove, said:

"The concept of oneGoodLove developed organically, as a reaction to the underserved and misunderstood gay and lesbian community… The leading online dating sites have either rejected gays and lesbians from membership or have treated them as if their dating process is identical to the heterosexual dating process, which it is certainly not. So, the launch of oGL signifies more than just another dating site. It gives the gay and lesbian community a chance to proclaim they too warrant services created specifically for their needs. And by using the best tools available to the "general" dating community to help our users to find a committed relationship, we are demonstrating our understanding of the LGBT community's needs."

Although the Personality Test is free (requires free registration), membership on the site is not. In fact, there are many subscription options offered, ranging from a full-year subscription (US $14.95/month) to a single month subscription (US $29.95/month). Every subscriber is asked to enter information for their personal profile, and there is a whole lot of details to fill in, which will later help you be matched properly. If you want to go further, and take a more active approach to finding your new partner, you can opt in for paid membership. Paid membership gives you the ability to communicate directly with other members, as well as in depth looks into their profiles.

The company's tagline is "When You're Ready". So, are you ready for a relationship? If you are, this is the first step.

Britney Spears, it seems, has been seeing a paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, with whom she has been seen holding hands and kissing in Santa Barbara a couple of days ago. According to The Daily Goss, it seems Britney's new found friend and romance is married, which kinda complicates the situation.

According to this article, women like dating married men for five reasons. I suppose, Britney is probably dating Adnan for reason number one, but could also be number five. What do you think, or do you even care? ;)

What is love today? - according to a survey

luv_branding.gifAOL Personals have released a bundle of surveys which tried to give us a clearer picture about what love is today according to what people said. There were actually ten separate mini-surveys each with its own take on love in the form of "Love is…". Some of the results were surprising, but within what was expected. The survey was commissioned by AOL, and executed online by Zogby International, with 7113 participants.

For example, the results for "Love is … Sex", the survey showed that 46% aged 20-29 would go bisexual, 27% aged 30-39 would lie about number of partners, 25% aged 20-29 are likely to have had a homosexual experience, 20% aged 40-49 don't practice safe sex and 61% aged 20-39 would love a good erotic fantasy.

There is plenty more data for other parts of the survey, so dig in if you are interested and see which groups you "belong" to? ;)

Next2Friends - Bluetooth dating

The abundance of advanced technologically in communication there are always examples of interesting new ways to connect people. One such example is a service called Next2Friends.com, a social networking site which uses any mobile phone platform to allow people to connect and share. So, what's the dating aspect of this service you might ask?

Well, there is something called Next2Friends Intelligent Proximity Matching. After setting up a Next2Friends profile detailing all your likes, dislikes, quirks and everything that makes you the individual that you are. As you move around in the real world, Next2Friends will automatically collect and match your data to other Next2Friends users you came into close proximity with. Naturally, this requires that you have the Next2Friends software loaded on your Bluetooth enabled mobile device. If you happen to be near someone who shares your likes and dislikes, you will be notified. If you happened to miss someone, the system will record all the profiles you were near to earlier. If you decide to meet that someone another time, you will have an idea where to go to try and "bump" into them. Privacy has been addressed with their patent pending privacy protection technology, so you don't have to worry about being seen when you'd rather stay invisible.

Other services include Ask-a-Friend, Live Streaming Video, Online Video Editing and Video Messaging. Although these services are not necessarily dating oriented, coupled with the mentioned Intelligent Proximity Matching, well, let's just say, it would be a pretty high-tech approach to dating. ;) In many ways similar to mobile dating service Dodge Ball, which I wrote about earlier, only Next2Friends is much broader in a sense that it's primarily a social networking service and it relies on Bluetooth technology to do its magic.

If you are a mobile user, why not give this a try. It's free, and it sounds like a lot of fun, especially if you like to mingle during social occasions.
