Wine dating grows in the UK

Wine datingPardon my ignorance, but I wasn't aware of existing of wine dating services. Basically, a company organizes social event where registered participants meet other people and chat with them, all while tasting wine. The atmosphere seems already in place — even if you don't like the place initially, just pour another glass — and it's up to you to collect all the phone numbers, while you're still sober. Not that we argue you should get drunk, but you know about that point when all the people around you suddenly start looking good…

Anyway, the UK's leading Wine Tasting Dating Company, Grape Vine Social, have witnessed a 40% increase in bookings since the beginning of 2008 particularly among hopeful women. You can find more about them in the release that follows after the jump, and in the meantime all I can say is good luck, and try staying sober for at least a couple of hours. You don't want to woke up near someone really ugly, do you? ;)
